What Cornr is
Built for the street you live on.
Cornr connects you with the people who live within about a ten minute walk of your door — the ones you would recognise in the street but have never spoken to.
You turn your light on when you feel like company, see who else nearby is around, and talk to them. Local shops can host a neighbourhood for a week and leave a small perk to collect in person.
It is a social app for neighbours rather than a feed, and it launches first in Canada.
How Cornr works
- 01
Your cornr
One neighbourhood, drawn on the map and roughly ten minutes across. Yours is the only one you can open.
- 02
Step in
Tap it for the pulse — who is out, how busy it has been, who is hosting — then slide to go active.
- 03
Moments
Talk with the people who are here, free and unlimited. Each line counts itself down; reply and it stays.
- 04
The bulletin
A notice stays on the board for seven days. One pin a day, so the board stays worth reading.
- 05
Knock
Three a day. Open a neighbour's door and ask; if they knock back, a private thread opens for the two of you.
- 06
The host
One local shop hosts your cornr for a week and leaves something behind the counter for you to collect in person.
Every screen is walked through in full on cornr.social.
By design
Four promises, built in.
Four promises shape how Cornr works. Each one is built into the product itself, so it holds whether anyone is watching or not.
Talk freely
Chatting with the people on your cornr is free and unlimited. Conversations fade within hours, so each one gets to stay in the moment it happened.
Privacy by default
Your phone works out which cornr you are standing in and shares only that area. Your address stays on your device.
Everyone arrives equal
There is no score to chase and no number beside your name, so people talk to each other the way neighbours actually do.
Every report reaches a person
Reports go to someone who reads them, not a queue. Objectionable content is acted on within 24 hours, and you always hear back.

Questions
Questions people ask.
What is Cornr?
Cornr is a hyperlocal neighbourhood app for iPhone. It connects you with the people who live within about a ten minute walk of your door — the neighbours you would recognise in the street but have never spoken to. You turn your light on when you want company, see who else is around, and talk to them.
Who makes Cornr?
Cornr is built and operated by North Axis Holdings Inc., a Canadian technology holding company. Cornr is its flagship platform.
What makes Cornr different from other social apps?
Scale, impermanence and the absence of a scoreboard. A cornr is one patch of streets about ten minutes across, so everyone you talk to is someone you could walk to. Talk clears within hours and notices come down after seven days, so there is no archive to trawl. There is no ranking, no follower count and no advertising.
Is Cornr free?
Yes. Talking to the people on your own cornr is free and unlimited, permanently. There is an optional membership that raises your daily post allowance, and local businesses pay to host a neighbourhood. Neither buys anyone a louder voice in a conversation.
Does Cornr track my location?
No. Your phone works out which cornr you are standing in and sends that area rather than a point. Cornr never receives your coordinates, does not collect location while the app is closed, and holds no address on file.
Where is Cornr available?
Canada first. Cornr launches across Canada before anywhere else, and after that wherever enough people ask for it. It is coming to the App Store for iPhone.
How can a local business get involved?
Local shops can host a cornr for a week and leave a perk for neighbours to collect in person. Hosting is arranged through cornr.social.
